WorkKit Supply

AEG’s 18V system is deliberately simple: any AEG 18V battery runs any AEG 18V tool. The complications are in the pack types and what they do to performance in high-draw tools.

The short answer

Every AEG 18V pack – 2.0Ah, 4.0Ah, 5.0Ah, 6.0Ah, 8.0Ah and 12.0Ah – fits every AEG 18V skin and kit. The 36V outdoor tools (mowers, some trimmers and chainsaws) use two 18V packs together in series, so nothing extra to buy if you already own a pair.

Standard vs FORCE vs FORCE HD

  • Standard packs (2.0Ah, 4.0Ah) suit drills, drivers and lights where weight matters more than runtime.
  • FORCE packs (4.0Ah, 5.0Ah, 6.0Ah) are the trade default – better cells, more sustained output in saws and grinders.
  • FORCE HD (8.0Ah, 12.0Ah) are high-density packs built for the heaviest draws: circular saws, mowers, chainsaws and rotary hammers. Heavier in the hand, but the runtime difference in a saw is substantial.
  • Tabless cells reduce internal resistance, which shows up as less heat and more consistent power under continuous load.

What FUSION changes

FUSION tools and FORCE batteries talk to each other through AEG’s Smart Sync system – the tool reads the pack and adjusts power delivery. You still get the same fit either way; a standard pack in a FUSION tool just delivers less than the tool can take.

Chargers

Any AEG 18V charger charges any AEG 18V pack. The difference is speed: the 3.2A charger is the slow everyday option, the 4A and 6A fast chargers cut charge times roughly in half, and multi-port chargers charge several packs in sequence. A 4.0Ah FORCE pack is around an hour on a 4A charger.

Storage in Australian heat

Lithium packs degrade fastest at high temperatures and full charge. Store packs below 30 degrees, out of a closed ute cab in summer, and leave them at around half charge if they will sit for months. Charge them back to full the night before a job.
